Carolyn Banach Appointed Principal of Milford High School

Carolyn Banach, an assistant principal, will replace Michael Tempesta, who is leaving at the end of the school year to become superintendent of Saugus public schools.

Carolyn Banach, an assistant principal at will be promoted to principal of the school, Superintendent Robert Tremblay announced Thursday.

She will begin July 1, and will take the place of Michael Tempesta, the high school principal of the past three years. Tempesta has accepted a new position as superintendent of Saugus public schools.

Banach has served as an assistant principal at the high school for the past five years. In that role, she has led programs and overseen initiatives including Advanced Placement, PSAT, MCAS, graduation, freshman orientation, student leadership, College Board testing programs, and the Virtual Learning High School.

Before joining the Milford school system, she was an assistant principal and a guidance supervisor at Littleton High School. And she was a guidance counselor in both Littleton and Weston schools.

She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Assumption College.

In a statement, Tremblay described her as a talented administrator. "Her breadth of experience in education and guidance coupled with her expertise in curriculum development will only help to enrich each student’s experience at Milford High School.”
