Milford RMV to Change Hours

The new hours will take effect Sept. 9.

The state Registry of Motor Vehicles in Milford is among several in the state that will push back its opening hours beginning in September, and introduce later hours one day a week.

Beginning Sept. 9, the Milford office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Thursdays, the office will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to a news release.

The changes were made because the state found few people took advantage of the 8 a.m. opening time. The changes also will take effect at RMV offices in Brockton, Lawrence, Springfield, Taunton and Worcester.

Registrar of Motor Vehicles Rachel Kaprielian said the hours shift will accommodate demand for afternoon hours. “Traffic in our branches continues to be heaviest late into the afternoon; this move will help guarantee staffing levels more closely match customer demand throughout the day," she said.
