Police Log: Car Break-Ins, Intoxicated Woman Tries to Enter Milford Animal Control Van

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Nov. 18

6:11 p.m.: Firefighters responded to a four-story structure on Oliver Street, where a caller reported black smoke coming from the broiler. Firefighters found it was a fire in an oven that was extinguished.

7:46 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and said her 16-year-old foster child had run away between 6 and 7 p.m. Police checked the Milford trail, where the girl often walks, but she wasn't there. The girl returned home about 9 p.m.

10:30 p.m.: A caller reported she was being harassed by text messages.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

7:17 a.m.: Vandalism was reported at Milford Town Park.

7:39 a.m.: A caller on Adams Street said his car was rummaged through overnight. Nothing appeared to be stolen.

8:35 a.m.: A caller asked police to remove a woman from an East Main Street property who had been ordered to not be there.

10:00 a.m.: A caller reported a past breaking-and-entering on Purchase Street.

5:14 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters to talk to an officer about a warrant. Police arrested ClaudeJane A Marques, 40, of 10 Walnut St., Apt. 3, Milford, on a warrant.

5:39 p.m.: A five-car crash was reported on East Main at Cedar Streets. Several ambulances responded.

6:34 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and said his wife on Saturday had gone to his house and cut up his pillows.

6:37 p.m.: A caller said he was being threatened over the phone by his son's friend.

10:01 p.m.: A woman said her car had been vandalized on Oct. 14. Some kind of a tool had been stabbed into the tire. She asked police to take a report.

Wednesday, Nov. 20

6:47 a.m.: A caller reported his car was broken into on Carven Road. The GPS was taken.

7:06 a.m.: A caller said his and his wife's cars were broken into overnight, on Fells Avenue. Small items were taken, including their check books.

8:49 a.m.: A caller reported her vehicle was broken into on Green Street, and also her husband's vehicle. She said nothing was taken from her car but credit cards were taken from her husband's car. She said her car was locked but her husband's was not.

9:13 a.m.: A caller on Julian Lane said her unlocked car had been rummaged through. About a dollar and some change were taken.

11:13 a.m.: A caller reported someone went through his car overnight on Fells Avenue. A few cards were taken, and a small knife.

11:40 a.m.: A caller said several cars on Oliver Street were broken into. Change was taken.

1:10 p.m.: Police responded to a home where a 22-year-old woman was out of control, possibly due to a psychiatric episode. She was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

4:10 p.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and asked to speak to an officer about his ex-wife making purchases with his name.

5:06 p.m.: Police responded to Kohl's, for a report of shoplifting. Police arrested Sean W. Rounsley, 24, of 24 Miscoe RD, Mendon, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

5:53 p.m.: A caller said an intoxicated woman was in the parking lot of Shaw's, and tried to get into the Milford Animal Control vehicle. Police gave the woman a ride home to Cherry Street.

7:53 p.m.: A caller on Exchange Street said he could hear a woman screaming outside his window. He walked around the area but could not find anyone.

9:31 p.m.: The front desk manager at La Quinta Inn asked police to remove two females from one of the rooms. Police responded and arrested a 17-year-old on a warrant.

Thursday, Nov. 21

4:57 a.m.: A caller on Fruit Street told police a man had struck a car and a fence, then got out of the vehicle and ran toward Main Street. He was hiding between two buildings. Police responded, and found the man. The vehicle was possibly stolen. Police were investigating.

6:57 a.m.: A caller on Beaver Street reported a theft from a car.

7:30 a.m.: A caller on Mt. Pleasant Street said things had been stolen from his vehicle.

7:37 a.m.: A caller said her vehicle was broken into, on Beaver Street.

7:43 a.m.: A caller on Central Street said two vehicles were broken into in his driveway.

8:51 a.m.: A caller said that landscapers at Pine Grove Cemetery were blowing all of the leaves into the road, causing a dangerous driving situation.

10:44 a.m.: A caller said his vehicle, on Mt. Pleasant Street, was rummaged through overnight, but nothing was taken.

12:26 p.m.: A caller on Beaver Street said his vehicle had been broken into overnight. Nothing was taken.
