Police Log: Man Hiding under Car Causes Suspicion, Coin Machine Ripped Off Wall

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. All arrests are reported. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, June 26

3:30 p.m.: The owner of Pizza Palace reported a scam. A man claiming to be from National Grid called and said he would be disconnecting the electricity in a few hours. The owner called National Grid, and confirmed that his account was current. He asked police to log the information.

5:10 p.m.: A man was in the lobby at La Quinta Inn with a cut to the head. He was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

6:02 p.m.: A caller reported her son's mother-in-law was hurting her. Several officers responded.

6:08 p.m.: A caller said someone had stolen a check and cashed it.

6:34 p.m.: A caller reported she had just had a fight with her boyfriend, and he would not let her back inside the house. She just wanted to pick up some items for the baby. Police helped her retrieve the items.

8:42 p.m.: A woman told police she saw another woman dragging her child on West  Spruce Street. The girl was about 8. Police responded and everyone was fine.

9:32 p.m.: A caller said two women were arguing with a man who was throwing things around. Police responded to Union Street, but could not find the people.

9:34 p.m.: A woman on Lantern Lane said a man was hiding under her car. He said he was playing "manhunt" with his friends. Police responded, and confirmed the people were playing hide and seek.

9:41 p.m.: Two men and two women were reported to be fighting outside, on West Spruce Street. Police responded and cleared everyone.

9:48 p.m.: A driver reported two baby raccoons had been struck in the road, on East Main Street. An officer responded. Both were dead and were moved to the side of the road. A message was left for the Animal Control officer.

10:17 p.m.: A woman in the police station said someone had stolen her X-Box.

10:37 p.m.: A caller on Claudette Drive told police a loud party was taking place behind their apartment. Police spoke to the people involved.

Thursday, June 27

1:26 a.m.: Police received a report of a domestic. Police arrested Raymond A. Hamelin, 33, of 23C St., Apt. 2, Whitinsville, on a warrant and on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

9:20 a.m.: A caller at Oakridge Village apartments said someone had ripped the coin machine off the wall.

10:37 a.m.: A caller said her 14-year-old cousin was out of control. Police responded. The chid was going to be evaluated.

10:42 a.m.: A caller said he saw a dump truck in a ditch, on Reservoir Road at Joan Circle. He wasn't sure if the truck was stuck, or if it was dumping something illegally.

10:59 a.m.: A 27-year-old man fell through a roof, falling 10 to 15 fee, on Birch Street. He was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

12:27 a.m.: Police and EMTs responded to a home, where a 12-year-old girl had cut three fingers and part of her arm on a door.
