Reply"Our esteemed leader and savant, Carl Berke..." Wow, based on that statement alone I know the whole post is rubbish and one sided opinion. Way to go Berke.

Gamingfacts, if patch was really one sided and censored comments as you allege, do you really think youd be getting away with your almost constant rapid fire comments that posts page after page of pro casino studies? I think Patch has been more than fair in allowing both sides to present their arguements.

That is 100% accurate, TM will have the final say. And its 2/3 of the members present, almost half dont show up so it will only take maybe 50 or so to block the zoning laws. There is no record of who votes what so youll have to do the leg work and contact TMM yourself.

Jennifer, I think you should be at the negotiation table, I've been saying from the start that I would take the casino if it gave us control of the water company but you go a bit further. And no I didn't you're picking on me, just so frustrated with traffic sometimes. I take 495 almost daily and sometimes it's easier to go from Boston to exit 20 than it is to get across town and back. Or maybe it just seems that way cause I'm not moving.

Tom, to answer your question, the casino will pay between $15-20M in payments in lieu of taxes and $2.5M to the town specifically for public safety. What the selectmen will do with it I don't know. Susan brings up a very important concern that whatever agreement is made will have to be binding in some way and have some enforcement clause otherwise they could potentially not hold up their end of the bargain.

Eric, actually the medical marijuana treatment centers did go to town meeting for zoning and is now restricted to the industrial zones B and C.
