In hiring Karen Pita Loor to teach him about the legal system, he also gets her past experience in representing indigent criminal defendants, adult and juvenile criminal cases, including murder, assault, and drug distribution, homeless defendants seeking public benefits such as disability and welfare. He also gets someone originally from Edquador, who has at her disposal all her law students to help with his defense. From BU's website, "Professor Loor is excited to now work with Boston University law students to marry their newly-attained substantive knowledge of the law with real-life experiences and thus provide exceptional representation to people charged with crimes." amazing...

I agree that they are a vocal minority but I don't agree 90% have little interest. I think 85 % are waiting to see what is proposed before making their decision for or against. When you also realize that this area has virtually nothing for the 21-35 age bracket, an entertainment destination looks like a welcome addition. The Foxwoods organization does nothing second class. As long as the facility is not considered a tribal sovereignty, and is subject to town, state and federal laws, this could be a welcome addition. I am looking forward to their presentation.

There are so many articles and comments against gaming without counterpoints because those in support or undecided are waiting to make their opinions known after they have seen the proposal from Foxwoods. Makes NO sense to wage a war against something of which you have no direct knowledge. Theories galore, but truth lies in the facts - which we do not have access to yet.

This resident likes Dino's continuity of applying similar suspensions for similar events. I see no substantive reason why these events are not similar, just excuses. I hope that even though the two "events" will take place on May 10 and 11, there will be no pouring in the alternate level club while the upper level event is taking place (or vice versa)... or they should add two additional days to the suspension to make it a full 10 days... to be fair...

Ignorance is no excuse for violating town licensee restrictions. The Manager should manage... not be downstairs while the event is upstairs. If the manager leaves the premises, the Supervisor should be supervising, not bartending downstairs. In essence, the Hoboken Club rented its facility with little oversight. Convenient explanation for an unsupervised event. That inexperienced bartender didn't freeze... either he wasn't trained properly to know what the laws are in Milford or didn't care to enforce them. This is my neighborhood and this is a disgrace! I don't care what the past has been.

The Guaman brother, Pablo, cut off the bracelet and fled. The judge will review in 60 days during which time the defense lawyers are instructed to get the proper interpreter and familiarize their client with the charges and the legal process. Then he will be evaluated to see if he is competent to stand trial and participate in his own defense. Of course in doing their job for their client the defense lawyer said he doesn't know how they will be able to follow the judge's instructions. The judge said she is confident Guaman can de educated about the charges and our legal process and become competent to stand trial...

"...In addition, the individuals would be prohibited from loitering for more than 15 minutes within 250 feet of bus stops..." How about putting locations of work and residences into the school bus route-planning system, so you don't have a school bus stop across the street from a Level 3 sex offender's residence like you do now near Mazzarelli's Bakery. Hopefully the bus stop has been relocated...

The mental competency evaluation through the Spanish interpreter was the evaluation that said he was not competant to stand trial... this may explain why? God bless the Maloney/Denice family for all the ups and downs they've had to endure trying to get justice for their son.
