About harry

Born and raised in New Haven, Ct on Pearl Harbor Day. In 1965 the age of 17 I joined the Air Force and played clarinet and sax in the AF Band program for 3 years. From the ages of 17-21 I saw Europe from concert stages.  In 1972 under the GI Bill I graduated Grahm Junior College in Boston. Worked at channel 7 for a year and then went to WMRC in Milford for 8 years as jazz disc jockey, copy writer, salesman, interviewer and producer.  Went into the Air National Guard Band in 1978 and in 1981 spent the next 11 years as a full time recruiter for the 212th Engineering Installation Squadron of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, retired as an E-7 in 1992.

Growing up there was always something Kodak in the house.  In 1973 I purchased a twin lens reflex that in short time went to infinity. Shortly after, I purchased my 1st of many 35 mm cameras and spent a lot of time in the bathroom/library/darkroom developing black and white films.  These days I shoot a Cannon 35 mm DSLR with a Cannon zoom telephoto.

Other hobby is ham radio. In 1980 I became KA1FXK and enjoy sending Morse Code to places all over the world.

My raison d'etre is searching for the perfect bowl of tripe with marinara sauce.

Married for 42 years to Patricia E Platcow (Flynn).  One married son, Trevor.
