Our contest theme this week is Thanksgiving. There are limitless opportunities for photos that illustrate Thanksgiving, whether it's literally—a turkey, cornucopia, your family around the dinner table, the traditional Thanksgiving Day football game—or figuratively (something for which you're thankful). Get creative! Or not! We want to see your photos, either way. All entries will have a chance at winning a $25 gift card to a local business. In the annual Thanksgiving Day matchup, the Shrewsbury Colonials shut out the Milford Scarlet Hawks.
Milford High School hosted the Shrewsbury Colonials Thanksgiving morning, in Milford's last home game of the season. The Scarlet Hawks finish their season 2-9, shy of making it to the playoffs. As forecasted, the weather for the game was perfect, especially considering many Turkey Day games have been played with snow on the sidelines. Shrewsbury's Zach Dionis scored the Colonials' first and second touchdowns and Jay Reynolds scored their third. Shrewsbury also scored a field goal, defeating Milford 24-0 and bringing their record to 9-2.

Here's what you need to know about the football game Thursday.
The Milford Scarlet Hawks host the Shrewsbury Colonials on Thursday, for a morning of Thanksgiving football. Return here during and after the game to share your photos. (Just click the "upload photos and videos" button to share away!) WHEN: 10:15 a.m. Thursday WHERE: Milford High School athletic field, to the side of the building, 31 W. Fountain St. This is a new artificial turf field, and will be the first Thanksgiving Day football match for it. The Scarlet Hawks have had seven home games on it. HOW MUCH: A very reasonable $3 for children and $5 for adults, same price as the regular season tickets. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, volunteers handed out turkeys to Milford residents in need.
Volunteers at the Daily Bread Food Pantry in Milford handed out turkeys to dozens of families on Tuesday who need a little help putting food on the table this Thanksgiving. The pantry currently provides food on a monthly basis to more than 300 Milford families using a team of 150 volunteers the pantry's director, John DeAngelo, said. In a Thanksgiving matchup, the Milford Scarlet Hawks beat the Shrewsbury Colonials, 24-6.
A crisp Thanksgiving morning provided perfect football weather in Shrewsbury, where the Colonials met the Scarlet Hawks. Milford defeated Shrewsbury, 24-6. Despite the loss, Shrewsbury will move on to a playoff game in Division 1 against Leominster.

I'll start us off: I grew up in an Irish family with a mother who didn't like to cook, and who viewed most herbs and seasonings with suspicion. Beyond salt, pepper, and butter, what more do we need? Thanksgiving isn't a day, it's a life.
I was raised by a mother who is a proficient Thank-You-Card-Writer. My Aunt is the Queen of the Thank-You-Card-Writers-Club. Each letter is like a tiny novella. Hand-written. Specifically personal. Highly thoughtful. I cringe with guilt at the fact that I am possibly the WORST person ever in the history of Thank-You-Card writing. I really should have turned out better considering my upbringing. However, in my defense, I’m excellent at the verbal “thank you." I use it early and often. And when I say it, it is because I am truly thankful, truly moved.
