Man Tased After Reportedly Stealing Justin Bieber Valentines, Tide, Red Bull

Police arrested a Grafton man after he reportedly stole more than $400 in items from the Milford Target.

A Milford police officer used a Taser to subdue and handcuff a Grafton man who fled from Target Tuesday night with a shopping cart full of items. What items? Several cases of Red Bull energy drink and Tide detergent, items that police say are often stolen in bulk and resold outside the suburbs. Also found in his cart were Justin Bieber valentines. Michael Pete Harding, 50, of 54 Tulip Cir., South Grafton, was arrested on charges of larceny over $250 and resisting arrest.  In all, police said they recovered $412 in items from his shopping cart. Along with Tide and Red Bull, Harding is accused of stealing several packages of Justin Bieber valentines, some dolls and other grocery items. Police Log: $100 in Shoplifted Meat

These are selected items from the Milford police log of June 6-7.

In the overnight police log, officers responded to several complaints about shoplifting, including a woman who tried to walk out of Hannaford supermarket with a cart "full of groceries," and a man who reportedly dashed out of the same business a few hours later with more than $100 in meat. Monday, June 6 3:27 p.m.: After receiving a call from Hannaford Supermarket, whose management reported a woman tried to shoplift a “cart full of groceries,” police arrested Marybeth Brennan, 28, of 18B Wenlock Rd., Dorchester, on a charge of shoplifting by asportation and larceny under $250. 5:10 p.m.: Police detained a juvenile shoplifter at Sports Authority, and took him back to the police station to wait for a ride. 6:31 p.m.: Police received a noise …

In the overnight police log, officers assisted an elderly woman whose car broke down late at night, and responded to several complaints about thefts. Sunday, May 22 4:41 p.m.: A police officer stationed with a radar gun near Thermo Fisher Scientific, 450 Fortune Blvd., ticketed five cars for speeding in 42 minutes. 6:07 p.m.: After receiving a call from Kohl’s Department Store, police are seeking a summons to charge Olga Castro, 57, of 22 Belmont St., Marlborough, with larceny over $250. 8:41 p.m.: A man walked into police headquarters to report his vehicle, parked on Bowdoin Drive, had been gone through and several items were taken. 10:40 p.m.: An accident on Harvard Drive was reported by a AAA representative. Police Log: Assault Arrest, A Cart of Stolen Meat

In the overnight police log, officers responded to several reports of suspicious people, including a person digging in a cemetery who turned out to be an employee. Police also responded to Hannaford Supermarket after receiving a report that a man had walked out with a cart full of meat. Tuesday, May 17 3:01 p.m.: Police received several calls about a structure fire at a building on West Street.
