Milford Woman Coordinating Donations to NJ/NY Sandy Victims
What is needed: boots, batteries especially C & D, flashlights, hand/foot warmers, blankets, diapers, formula, baby food, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, deodorant, winter coats, socks, non-perishable foods, shovels.
There are still thousands of residents in New York and New Jersey who remain in the dark due to Hurricane Sandy. Some have been without electricity and heat for more than a week. Milford resident Holly Moore is working with a group called "Massachusetts - New York Relief Runs" to bring much-needed supplies to the area. The first trip is leaving Massachusetts Sunday. Moore is the Milford coordinator for the group. She is amassing supplies for the "poorest and hardest hit communities in New York and New Jersey." In an email message, she reported: "Our first trip leaves on Sunday and all items for that run need to be here by Friday evening for transport to our main site that is loading the truck.
