Patriots to Pay Tribute to Newtown Shooting Victims Sunday Night

The New England Patriots will wear black-ribbon logos on their helmets and hold a moment of silence before Sunday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers in Foxborough.

Foxborough will be center stage of the National Football League world for the second time in six days Sunday night when the New England Patriots host the San Francisco 49ers in primetime on NBC's Sunday Night Football. But even a game with so much significance on playoff positioning will simply be less important in the wake of Friday's tragedy in Newtown, CT. The New England Patriots, along with the rest of the country, will have the 26 victims of Friday's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on their minds and in their hearts during Sunday's game at Gillette Stadium. Patriots Help Beautify Milford, Honor Volunteers

Milford's Greenleaf Garden Club had a little help Tuesday in planting fall-friendly mums. Ron Brace, a defensive lineman for the New England Patriots, helped plant and water the new plantings at two locations.

The Greenleaf Garden Club, which maintains the planters across town and helps beautify Milford's barren spaces, had a surprise helper Tuesday. Ron Brace, a defensive lineman for the New England Patriots, helped the garden club members plant some mums at the Milford Town Library and at the base of the World War II memorial in Draper Memorial Park. Brace was participating in a Patriots program that selects players for volunteer jobs, called Celebrate Volunteerism, created in 2011 to honor Myrna Kraft, the late wife of Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
