Yum Yum Froyo, a business started by three friends, will open in April on East Main Street.
Milford has plenty of businesses, but not one that sells frozen yogurt as its specialty. Tuan Lam and his business partners, Derek and Lindsey Tran, noticed this when they started scouting out locations in the region for a frozen yogurt shop. Frozen yogurt has been around for several decades, but it's enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, spurred by people trying to eat more healthy alternatives to ice cream. Shops in Franklin, Holliston and surrounding towns sell the creamy, low- to non-fat treat. Now Milford will get its own: Yum Yum Froyo. "There is a demand around here," Lam said. Yum Yum will not reinvent the wheel. It's going to feature the self-service stations that are popular in other shops, Lam said. But it's not going to stay …

Yoga is supposed to be stress-relieving. But walking into a yoga class, and not knowing what you're doing, can be stressful! Truth Yoga, a new yoga studio in Milford, aims to help people around that obstacle.
Anyone who's ever walked blindly into a yoga class, with little knowledge of the methods or moves, knows how awkward it can be. You try to figure out what you're doing by watching the people around you. This isn't the experience of yoga that Truth Yoga Studio wants you to have. The small, intimate studio opened on Main Street about a month ago, under the ownership of Traci Ward. Ward picked her materials and location carefully, after conducting research into the options for yoga in Milford. What she learned was Milford didn't have a dedicated yoga studio. And she was encouraged to open a studio by a friend, Amy Leone, whose counseling service shares the floor. The studio is on the second floor of an historic downtown building, at 211 Main …

Classic Barber Shop opened for business this week on Central Street, near Main Street. It is owned by Scott Braga and Julio Resto, and takes over a vacant space that used to be a gun shop.
Downtown Milford is where Scott Braga and Julio Resto want to be: right in the middle of things. They opened Classic Barber Shop this past weekend, taking over a small, closed space at 16 Central St. that used to be a gun shop, but years ago was a barbershop. Before opening, they repainted the interior and exterior, moved in the vintage barber chairs and hung a banner outside. Braga also owns Scott Anthony Classic Barbershop on West Street. Resto, a friend, has been a barber for six years, but this is his first business. "I've been waiting for this for six years; I'm so happy about the opportunity," Resto said. Let Patch save you time. 77th & Vine has kits and supplies for making wine.
People who love wine will be interested in a new business on East Main Street in Milford. The shop, 77th & Vine, takes its name from the street address. It offers kits and supplies for making wine. The inspiration was childhood memories of winemaking, said owner Matthew Metti, who grew up in a neighborhood of Providence. "I made wine with my grandfather as a kid," Metti said. "It was part of my Italian heritage." Now semi-retired, Metti decided Milford was the right location. He chose an emtpy storefront on East Main Street, and opened 77th & Vine on Sunday. The shop sells everything you need to get started in winemaking, from grape juices to corks. The shop has more than 60 varieties of juices — including shiraz, pinot noir, syrah and …
