Milford Legion right fielder Matt Gerard posted the most hits in a regular season since 2004.

Right fielder Matt Gerard put together quite a season for the Milford Legion Post 59 baseball team. Gerard led the team in hits with 37 over a 22-game regular season, the most during a Milford Legion season since 2004. Gerard did it all this season for Milford, compiling 22 RBIs, scoring 23 runs and stealing 17 bases. This week our photos focus on the Milford Legion Post 59 Baseball team in a doubleheader against Grafton Hill Post 323 and Northbridge Post 343 Thursday at Fino Field. It was another great night for baseball, except Milford — now 14-7 and in fifth place — did not move up in the standings after splitting the doubleheader. Milford came out on top over Grafton Hill, 8-5, in the early game, but dropped in the game against Northbridge, 7-0. This is the final week of the regular season. Playoffs begin Sunday.

This week our photos focus on Milford Legion Post 59 Baseball team vs. Main South Legion Post 341 Thursday at Fino Field. On a beautiful night for a ballgame, Milford came out on top 6-4. Jarrod Casey pitched very good ball for six innings for Milford, but had a little trouble in the sixth. With the bases loaded and the score 6-4 Jarrod struck out the Main South batter for the final out to end the inning. Milford Legion's record improves to 10-3 for the season.

This week our photos focus on the Milford Legion Post 59 Baseball team vs. the Northborough Legion Post 234 Friday night at Fino Field. The weather was worse than last week, but the score much better for Milford Legion, which came out on top 11-5. The night was cold and a steady mist fell all evening. It felt more like football weather. As a result of the win, Milford Legion's record improved to 7-2.

This week our photos focus on the Milford Legion Baseball team. Thursday evening was a beautiful evening for baseball. But the results were not so pretty. It was a tough day for Coach Brian Macchi, his softball team lost to Amherst 3-0 earlier in the day and his Legion team dropped their game to Shrewsbury 5-2. Milford's starting catcher, Rob Benjamin, was hit in the face during warm-ups and was not able to play. Mike Roche of Shrewsbury, trying to score, was hit in the face by the ball and required medical attention at the plate. He then was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center for treatment.
