Santa Will Reply to Letters from Children

Thanks to a very special U.S. Postal Service program, "Santa" will reply to children who mail him their Christmas wish lists by Dec. 10.

Every year, millions of children sit down to make a wish list for Santa, hoping he will make all of their Christmas dreams come true. But what if Santa actually wrote back? The United States Postal Service is now accepting "Letters From Santa," a program that allows any person to play Santa by sending a letter signed by St. Nick to any child. According to a postal service news release, "The 'Letters From Santa' program helps parents fulfill the dreams of their own children." Instructions to send a letter from Santa: TELL US: Do your children or children in your family plan on writing a letter to Santa this year?

Letters from the North Pole

If you know someone who would like a letter or card stamped from the "North Pole," here is how you do it.

The U.S. Postal Service will offer a North Pole postmark through Dec. 10. To receive the special holiday postmark, customers should affix the correct postage to addressed envelopes and cards; then pack them in a larger envelope, box, Priority Mail or Express Mail package and send them to: To ensure delivery by Christmas, all requests must be received in Anchorage by Dec. 10. The postmark service is provided at no cost.
