Snowfall Predictions Vary Largely for Friday Storm

It's going to snow this weekend, but how much will we get?

The state and national news networks, and National Weather Service, all agree on one thing: there is a storm coming to town for Friday and Saturday. What they don't agree on is how much snowfall you're going to see. Estimates range from 3 inches to nearly 2 feet. A report from Jim Arnold, weather specialist with the Shrewsbury Management Agency, said the storm will likely begin Thursday and could leave 10 to 15 inches across the area. The Weather Channel said the storm will likely peak Friday night around 10 p.m. They are focusing on two very different possibilities, one that could dump nearly 2 feet in the Boston area, the other showing less than 3 inches. Hazardous Weather

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for eastern Massachusetts, including Milford.

The weather, as many have already seen, took a turn toward winter Wednesday. The National Weather Service early Wednesday morning issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of New England, including Milford and Central to Eastern Massachusetts. Rain will continue Wednesday, turning to snow overnight as a cold front moves in, according to the outlook. A "low probability" exists for one to two inches of snow in the area late Wednesday, which should produce slippery conditions on roads and slow the Thursday commute. Winds are expected to become gusty later Wednesday night, and an advisory on that may be issued as well.
