Milford Property Owner Fined for Asbestos Violation
The state Department of Environmental Protection announced Thursday a fine of $28,372.50 on DARN Properties of Milford.

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) assessed a $28,372.50 penalty on DARN Properties, LLC of Milford for violations of state asbestos regulations that occurred during a Milford rental property renovation project in September 2011. The painters hired for the job, which were lead certified, are the one's that removed the tiles improperly and put them in the dumpster, also improperly. Darn Properties was as shocked as anyone that they did this; (they have since gone out of business). Darn Properties paid a lot of money to have everything cleaned properly, including the entire dumpster and all of its contents, buy asbestos …   more ›
