Man Flown to Worcester Hospital with Serious Injury

A single-car crash on Route 140, near the intersection with South Main Street, has seriously injured the driver. He was flown by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Worcester.

A man in his 40s was flown by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Worcester, after his car struck a pole on Route 140, police said. The man, who was not identified, was taken initially to Milford Regional Medical Center, where he was life-flighted to Worcester. His injuries were described as serious. The crash was reported about 1:30 p.m., said Milford Police officer Brian Araujo. The car struck the pole, then came to a stop in brush off Cape Road. By mid-afternoon, the crash was being investigated by the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, which investigates serious injury and fatality crashes in the area. Man Injured in Fiske Mill Road Crash

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove a man from his vehicle on Fiske Mill Road Friday, after it crashed and turned on its side. The man, who was not identified, was taken by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center.

Milford and Upton firefighters removed a man from a vehicle after it turned on its side in a crash on Fiske Mill Road Friday. The man, whose identity was not released, was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, said Lt. Paul DiAntonio of the Milford Fire Department. The crash was reported about 6:30 p.m., near the intersection with Field Pond Road, and involved one vehicle. The cause has not been determined, DiAntonio said. Upton firefighters arrived first on the scene, and stableized the vehicle. Milford and Upton firefighters then removed the man from the passenger's side of the car using extrication tools. The car was at a 30 to 45 degree angle, DiAntonio said.

Car Crashes into Utility Pole Near Holliston Line

A woman driving a Mazda Protege struck a utility pole on East Main Street before dawn Friday morning, snapping it off. The road was temporarily shut down by Holliston Police.

A woman driving a sedan west on Route 16 in Milford Friday struck a utility pole, snapping it at the base, but was not injured. The crash at 4:30 a.m. temporarily shut down the road in both directions, near the Holliston line, until police and utility crews could clear the street of power lines. Holliston Police redirected traffic to Route 109. Before the shut-down, a box truck became entangled in the wires, according to a Milford Police log narrative. A police detail remained on the scene at 8 a.m. Friday, waiting for a National Grid crew to replace the pole, which is leaning over the westbound lane. Serious Crash on Central Street

Several people were treated for injuries following a wreck Friday at the intersection of Central and Beach streets.

Several people were injured Friday morning when two cars collided at the intersection of Beach and Central streets, shortly after 8 a.m. Police and fire crews responded, and transported a woman and two chldren to Milford Regional Medical Center. The other driver, a woman in a Volkswagen Jetta, was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with a head laceration, said Milford Fire Lt. Paul DiAntonio. The woman and children taken to the Milford hospital were not seriously hurt, according to DiAntonio. They were placed into neck braces on the scene as a precaution.
