Mark Busuito, formerly of 24 Cedar St., pleaded guilty on March 22 to a count of armed robbery while masked in Worcester Superior Court, a spokesman said. Assistant District Attorney Christopher Hodgens recommended the sentence of six-to-eight years, said Timothy Connolly, a spokesman for the Worcester District Attorney's office. Milford Police Release Suspect Images in Armed Robbery at Granite Gulf

Enhanced photographs of the suspect in a Dec. 5 armed robbery at Granite Gulf were released Friday by Milford Police. Police also released photos of a vehicle involved in the crime.

Milford Police are asking the public to view a series of photographs taken from security cameras at Granite Gulf gas station, to see if they can identify the suspect or the getaway vehicle. According to an email message from Detective Michael Mastroianni, the robber entered Granite Gulf about 7:18 p.m. last Wednesday, and fired a handgun twice inside the gas station at attendants. "We are trying to identify the suspect, and believe that the vehicle in the images was the vehicle used as a get away car," Mastroianni wrote. "The vehicle struck a rock in the parking lot, and should have some damage to the passenger side front and side." The suspect was described by witnesses as a white male, about 6' to 6'2" and of thin build. No one was …

Employees Shaken over Armed Robbery

Most employees of Granite Gulf were back at work Thursday, but shaken over the events Wednesday night.

Everything seemed business as usual at Granite Gulf on Cedar Street Thursday, with cars at the pumps and customers sitting inside, waiting on cars being serviced. But the employees of the service station are still shaken by the armed robbery Wednesday, in which a man with a handgun fired two rounds inside the business before fleeing with cash. Karin Kaye, who manages the family-owned business with her sister, said employees are still upset. The business will close early Thursday, she said, once it gets dark. The family is thankful that no one was hurt, but upset about the violence. "Awful," Kaye said, when asked to describe the experience. She wasn't at the business Wednesday night, but her brother was among the employees accosted by the …

UPDATED: Shots Fired in Armed Robbery at Granite Gulf

Milford and State Police are investigating an armed robbery at Granite Gulf. Shots were fired at an attendant, but no one was injured. The robber fled on foot.

An armed robber fired a handgun at an attendant twice inside Granite Gulf Wednesday night, in a robbery of the service station. The employee was not injured, said Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin. The robber, whose face was obscured with a scarf, fled on foot into the woods near Art's Towing. Milford and State Police searched that area with a police dog, but lost the trail. The robbery was reported shortly after 7 p.m., when the service station was open for business and had customers at the gas pumps. The robber entered the office, and demanded cash from the attendant, O'Loughlin said. The employee didn't immediately turn over any money, and instead entered the service bay area, where his boss was working, the police chief said. At that time…

She looks like she handled the situation pretty well and stayed calm. In a situation like that where you are by yourself, in a confined space and unarmed that's probably the best thing you could do. I'm not suggesting that if she was armed that she should of fought back either...   more ›

A 25-year-old man who is charged with the masked, armed robbery of Valero Gas Station Saturday was ordered held on $100,000 cash bail Tuesday in Milford District Court.

A district judge ordered a man accused of robbing the Valero gas station at knifepoint held on $100,000 cash bail Tuesday, citing numerous factors, including the fact that he is on probation for "similar offenses" in Middlesex County. Mark Busuito, 25, of 24 Cedar St., was arrested by Milford police, with the assistance of Waltham police, on Monday afternoon. Milford police are asking for the public to help them identify a suspect in an armed robbery of Valero Gas Station Saturday. The man walked in to the gas station about 9 p.m., brandishing a silver-bladed knife, and demanded "all the money" from the attendant, said Deputy Police Chief James Heron, in a press release. Wow, David, that is quite a story. Too bad the thieves didn't use their brain power and ingenuity for something worthwhile instead of crime, oh that's right, they needed more brain power to learn to add. Hopefully they stayed in school. It just amazes me that people can come up with such time consuming ways to steal from others.   more ›
