Also in unusual police news, a man was weaving in and out of traffic (on a bike).
The case of the annoying singer/honker. A woman kept Holliston dispatchers busy last week, when she was the subject of not one, not two, not three, but at least four 911 calls in two days. Apparently, she was harassing the caller, first by blocking her from passing on the street. (She had called earlier about advice on a court action.) Then, she was singing God Bless America loudly and honking his horn. The final call was from a neighbor, who was also perturbed by the loud singing and honking. Can you get pulled over for drunken-bicycle-driving? A person called 911 in Milford on Tuesday afternoon reporting that an intoxicated man was on a bicycle, and weaving in and out of traffic. (Or, he was just a man learning how to ride a bicycle.) …

Thursday, May 9 4:46 p.m.: A caller reported the front door of the state Registry of Motor Vehicles had been struck by a vehicle. Police determined a vehicle was not involved, but arrested Joseph Leo Iodice, 27, of 48 Wood St., Framingham, on a charge of wanton destruction of property, more than $250. 5:13 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Cedar at East Main streets, police arrested Valmir A. Fernandes Jr., 35, of 10 Dell Ann Cir., Milford, on charges of failure to stop or yield and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The extent of injury was not clear in the police log narrative. 6:21 p.m.: A woman in the police station reported she had money being stolen from her account. 8:11 p.m.: Police received a 911 call with a child on the line, who said everything was all set, then hung up. The U.S. Attorney's office alleges that DEX Corporation, a shipping company in Natick, was a front for a drug trafficking operation.
Fifteen men were arrested Thursday and charged with conspiracy to distribute Oxycodone in connection with an alleged MetroWest drug trafficking ring headquartered in Natick. The arrests included a Milford resident. “With these arrests today we hope to send a strong message that trafficking and distributing prescription pain medication will not be tolerated and we will utilize the full breadth of our law enforcement resources to bare," Special Agent in Charge John J. Milford Selectmen will ask the Watertown Police if they want to participate in this month's Memorial Day parade.
The annual tradition of the Memorial Day Parade in Milford may have a new addition this year. Milford Selectmen will ask the Watertown Police if they want to send an honor guard delegation to participate in the parade this year, given the role that the department's officers played in stopping two men accused in the Boston Marathon bombing. One suspect was killed in a shootout with Watertown officers. The second was arrested hours later after he was found hiding in a boat in a residential neighborhood. Geoffrey Portway, 40, a citizen of the United Kingdom and most recently of Worcester, pleaded guilty today to solicitation to commit a crime of violence (kidnaping of a child) and distribution and possession of child pornography. According to the agreed upon statement of facts, Portway engaged in numerous chats with many individuals about a mutual interest in abducting, raping, murdering, and eating children. Many of these conversations were accompanied by the trading of child pornography.
