How about New Bedford High School is the worst in the state and has the most violence - They laidRead More off half the teachers last year and are building a 100 million dollar ocean wind turbine port that will probably never be used - Why not a story about New Bedford ?
Nancy Gilberg April 24, 2014 at 08:07 pm
Karen, I was thinking the same thing. Missing student found dead...and hey, how about those homeRead More values, and let's go shopping! Just awful. (Gordon, use the down-arrow to view the sad story about the student, which is first in the headline, but last in the queue.)
Jennifer Walsh Starr April 24, 2014 at 10:40 pm
Honestly this is THE MOST inappropriate headline I've ever read. Who is chirpy about a dead studentRead More and child rape and lumps that it with shopping? Really? Have you no standards or judgment at all?

I want the Governor to include bullying within DCF run facilities - and by the DCF itself - to haveRead More more safeguards in place and exercised properly so as not to entertain unwarranted 51As being enacted against innocent parties. That would reduce caseload for the workers and the state HHS burgeoning budget!
Ken B. April 24, 2014 at 05:49 pm
So, does this mean that the DCF has to stop bullying the Pelletiers ?

Going to be tough to sell Natick Patch will very little Natick news. If I owned a business in NatickRead More I would NOT advertise. Maybe you should look for Massachusetts or National sales reps as that is all I see on Natick Patch is Massachusetts and National news!
DanielleWolf April 24, 2014 at 06:37 pm
Agreed - I hate this new format of Patch with news from all over rather than news from the town inRead More which I live. It used to be great to post school fundraising events on here but with the change, I doubt anyone is even reading past the headline anymore.
Robert Alden April 24, 2014 at 10:09 pm
How about re-hiring all of the local editors you downsized? The Patch is a waste of time in EastonRead More now. I'd much rather go online to the Easton Journal website. Such a shame too, because the format is so open to the community. But, if there's no local news, there's no reason to read the Patch regularly.

Steven Spiegel, do you mean the NAACP? And are you equating the NAACP to the KKK

I think KKK are unloved morons but come on, why is the media so shy to tell us about black andRead More Hispanic hate groups (ganmgs dude, gangs) that killed a lot more in a year than the KKK in 40 years, ei? Again, KKK is a great way of becoming insane quick as hate drives one insane but it is the media telling us how melting pot is bad...nope, it is not, becoming freaking americans first then blacks and Hispanics and there will be no-more kkk except in prisons. Today when the media doesn't tell you the race of the suspect you just know it's black and if they mention "rights" or" pastor phlegger"when reporting about an Hispanic suspect you know the guy is an illegal so duh, kkk is refusing to join the cartoons...so make fun of them all you want...if the media and society doesn't start hanging the bastards regardless of the race we will all end up joining kkk and that's sad. I say hang the suspects first and look at his race second not the other way around. It is not kkk we need to fear, it is the media and their insane mission to make us believe we are all equal. We are not: some are lazy, some are ugly, some are dumb, some are violent and some deserve not one but 3 or four executions...we are not equal, even Lenin figured that out (and died quickly after "seeing the light") so stop sugarcoating anything black ort Hispanic related and demonizing anything white. It is not about race but it could be...and we wouldn't want that now, would we?

The Massachusetts Democratic "Party " is having a ball destroying the lives of the windRead More turbine victims. How about saying a prayer for the victims and pass it along ? Queena Armstrong Knox April 24, 2014 at 08:41 pm
Actually this is usually a sign of gestational diabetes. But not always....Alison and Erin. AndRead More BIGBAKER I've heard of bigger babies being born at home years ago too but that gets into the whole accuracy of the way they were weighed. My daughter weighed 9lb 1oz. I'm average size. My birth weight was around 7 pounds. My husband was a premie and weighed about 5 pounds. But he was a big man. Not huge. He was 6ft 1in and weighed about 190 at his heaviest. I'm 5' 3" and weighed 165 at full term. Sometimes the size of the baby is determined by ancestors long dead! My son weighed 7lb 12oz and he was born 4 weeks premature! Imagine where he was headed! So don't go blaming things that may have NOTHING to do with it!

" Prosecutors contend he planned to murder the two teens and waited in the basement with aRead More bottle of water, a book, energy bars and two guns" How did he know that these kids were going to show up? Did he invite them just to kill them? If that's the case, it was premeditated. He shot one of them in the face after he was down and said he wanted them dead. I'd call that guilty of murder. The Fluffernutter SHOULD be the symbol of Massachusetts POLITICIANS at all levels. - - - They wasteRead More time on FLUFF and NUTTERY. - - - But, perhaps, it is not entirely the pols fault. The lapdog media must share part of the blame. - - - A case in point: This stupid story made Patch, but hugely wasteful public works projects and gross public sector union contracts are never mentioned. - - - But the pols know perfectly well they will NEVER be held to account for ANYTHING, because they can distract the media and the public with nonsense like a state sandwich. - - - I think we should have a 'state horses anatomy part'. I leave it to the reader to figure out WHICH part I'd suggest... HINT: Look under the tail.

I don't disagree with you that we're becoming less and less a free country but it's wrong to blameRead More democrats alone. It wasn't dems alone that passed the patriot act. It hasn't been dems alone that have been re-uping it since it was passed the first time. On how bad Hillary will be as a president. Every president is bad in some ways. Reagan raised taxes more than a dozen times. Bush took us to war on two fronts with no way to pay for it. Clinton signed DOMA and DADT. Obama gave away the farm in order to get the Affordable Care Act passed. Papa Bush said that atheists shouldn't be considered Americans. Sure Hillary will be a bad president in some ways.... they are all bad in some way. I can tell you this much though, any president is going to be a worse president when the publicly stated goal of the opposition is to obstruct that president at any and all opportunities. The dems did it to Bush. The republican'ts are doing it to Obama. It's like Palestine and Israel, they'll fight to the death out of spite and habit, neither one of them knowing which one threw the first punch and not caring because winning is the only goal. What America needs are citizens that go into government for the good of the country instead of the good of their party.
Michael Hipp April 24, 2014 at 03:03 pm
Oh, one last point on your last post B. Dub. "Hillary presidency combined with a DemocraticRead More Congress." Ain't gonna happen. Republicant's have gerrymandered the states to absolute death. They have the House for the foreseeable future and they have a good chance at getting the Senate. I can't guarantee you who's going to win in 2016 but I can very well guarantee you that no one party will take executive and legislative branches, both.

Bob West April 24, 2014 at 06:20 pm
@ eddie, I wouldn't mention any specific phone-calling service in case any other arseholes areRead More looking for tips. But for better or worse, those calls are traceable. They have "add-ons" that can fool your friends, but certainly not the NSA. BTW, that phone service was bought by Microsoft a couple of years ago- so much for any illusion of confidentiality. By using it, you "opt in" to give up your privacy, just like with G-mail. Using a computer to make a prank call is a dumb move in itself. Any computer transmits a wealth of information. Non-smart phones are a lot less traceable than anything else. Have you ever seen how many items advertisers and other web sites use to uniquely identify your computer? They can't tell your name but track your unique computer. It's called "computer fingerprinting." As soon as you give your name at a web site they track, they've got you. Check this site sometime to see how unique your computer is-- https://panopticlick.eff.org/ .... I suspect that nobody's putting much effort into tracing this call, because in the big scheme of things, they've got more serious things to deal with. (Unfortunately, unlike our local PDs.) Shame this idiot got so much publicity from his crime. I think the glorifying news "perp walk" should be stopped in virtually all cases.
