Why not have an indoor location for the winter months ?
Jennifer October 17, 2013 at 07:59 am
@Marty- that makes WAY more sense! Thanks for making the clarification & I agree! If somethingRead More was done near and around the pavilion it wouldn't impact any of the sports or "activities" and it provides a lot of options for them to do entertainment and maybe a partnership with another car show to bring more people in.

Thanks everyone for voting and commenting so far! The poll is open for the remainder of the week soRead More spread the word! The more input we have the better! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ @Vivian- We're trying to do something in the winter months. Right now, we're in the process of sourcing a spot that has a rental fee within our budget. If you know of a spot, please let us know! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- To anyone who voted for "Other" and inserted "Draper Park" would you please clarify if you meant "Draper Memorial Park" which is the Veterans memorial park on Main St across from the Police Department, or the actual "Draper Park" which is on Draper St off of Church St. -Thank you!

I agree: This is a generous donation. I am confused, though. In May, the town anticipated this pierRead More to cost $230,000. With this donation, does this mean the pier costs approximately $221,000?

Hi Brenda, maybe I misunderstood the scale of the work. I thought it was being handled in-houseRead More without an additional appropriation. I'll check.
Mary MacDonald (Editor) June 12, 2013 at 01:59 pm
Hi Brenda, I just double checked and the pier will be constructed with donated labor from a townRead More contractor, and design and construction work from the town, and the materials provided by the gift for the platform. There will be no more money coming for it.

Great effort Tyler. Should be more like you around.Just curious as to how the old lead paint/stainRead More is being handled.
Mr Nobody August 22, 2012 at 02:12 pm
WOW why are you throwing a monkey wrench at this young man painting the fire station. The lead paintRead More has been there for years & years, if your so curious how the lead paint is being handled "why don't you go up there and help him out with the painting" instead of being curious. ""Hi Tyler"" if your reading this good luck finishing you painting project, this guy and his comment might shut you down.

Mike, the shingles are old so there wasn't alot of prep work involved. If anyone has ever paintedRead More old shingles it's very difficult and quite a bit of stain gets absorbed. What I will say is this it looks better than it ever has and many people have commented positively. I think your concern is really addressed when the building is repaired or re-sided which would be the next thing that should be considered for this structure. With the new paint job this should give the town several years before that needs to be considered. For now, this project shows what kids today cam accomplish as a team.
