Who: Sarah Del Soldato of R&S Gluten Free Bakery and Sharon Washburn of Oh-Yumm Bakery both located right here in Bellingham.
What: Sarah and Sharon have decided to merge their businesses to form Wheatless Bliss. The 1st Dedicated Gluten Free Facility offering Dairy Free, Paleo and Vegetarian foods with NO chance of cross contamination. The Paleo diet is made up of lean protein, fruits and vegetables, and healthy fats. This is important because right now 1 in 8 people suffer from a food allergy and the amount of people that are diagnosed with a Gluten allergy or intolerance increases every day.
Where: We would like to continue to do business in Bellingham, and have found a place at The Plaza in Bellingham, located behind Dairy Queen.
When: May 1st the kitchen will open for wholesaling, and farmers markets. In September we plan to open the store front with retail product to include baked goods, herbal teas, mixes, hard to find ingredients, smoothies, and grab and go prepared meals. We will also offer children’s parties, cooking classes and girls night out events.
Why: Sarah’s daughter, being diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder has responded positively to a gluten free diet. We would like to provide the options for people to eat healthier with freshly made foods for those people that suffer from food allergies while keeping prices reasonable.
