Weekend Pick: Milford Public Schools Employees, in 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum'

Milford schools employees will perform twice this weekend, on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Milford Public Schools presents a faculty production of Stephen Sondheim’s musical comedy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, a hilarious story of young love, mistaken identities, disguises, and surprises in the winding streets of ancient Rome.  The singers, dancers, instrumentalists, and production staff in the show are Milford faculty and staff members, nurses and alumni from all the schools in the district.  Even the Superintendent and a School Committee member are part of the cast!

The performances will take place at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the Davoren Auditorium at Milford High School, 31 West Fountain Street, Milford.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children, and available through the Music Office at 508-478-1110 ext 2512 or by email at npomeroy@milfordma.com.  All proceeds will be used to create an Emergency Fund for Milford students and their families who suffer a fire or other calamity.

Something that’s gaudy, something that’s bawdy, something for everybody in MPS’ A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum!
