The Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail will hold the annual Fall Cleanup on Saturday, and volunteers are still needed.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are asked to check in at Fino Field. The cleanup will cover the 5.6 miles of paved trail. Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome.
Please bring work gloves, rakes, brooms, or shovels and wheelbarrows and leaf blowers. The Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail has purchased two leaf blowers that will be used during the cleanup to clear leaves and pine needles. "We will also provide disposable gloves, garbage bags and water, along with painting supplies and other assorted tools as available," the organization announced.
How can you help?
Here are just some of the items on the to-do list:
Spread mulch around memorial benches. Prep the main trailheads for winter. Clear out birdhouses along the trail. Reseat some of the bird house poles. Sweep/shovel dirt caused by erosion. Eliminate graffiti – painting. Trash pick-up as needed.
An RSVP is not required to volunteer, but is appreciated. Please RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit www.milfordtrail.org for more details.
