Police Chief Recommends 'No Parking' on W. Fountain Near Tennis Courts

Here are five important or interesting things happening this week.

1. Milford Selectmen will meet Monday. Among the agenda items, a recommendation by Milford Police Chief Thomas O'Louglin to establish a 'no parking' area on the field side of West Fountain Street, from the high school driveway to the property line. The move is aimed at preventing people from creating a traffic hazard when they park along the road during athletic events.

2. Sen. Richard Moore (D-Uxbridge) will hold office hours from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at Milford Town Hall, ending before the selectmen's meeting. 

3. Cornerstone at Milford is holding a two-day job fair this week, on Tuesday and Wednesday. The facility is under construction on Medway Road at Birch Street and will include assisted living apartments as well as an Alzheimer's unit.

4. The deadline for Milford residents to register to vote for the Nov. 19 special election is Wednesday.

5. Casino-Free Milford will hold a public forum on the Foxwoods Massachusetts casino at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the upper level of Milford Town Hall.
