Open Gym Returns, Affordable Health Care and Small Business, 'Irish Need Not Apply' Lecture

Here are five interesting or important things coming up in the week ahead.

1. The Milford Board of Health will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Monday.

2. State Sen. Richard T. Moore and health care professionals will discuss how the Affordable Health Care Act affects small businesses. The forum, which begins at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, is organized by the Milford Area Chamber of Commerce and the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce.

3. The Milford Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

4. A lecture on "Irish Need Not Apply" and the rise of Irish Americans in Boston's political life will be held at the Milford Town Library at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

5. Adult Open Gym returns to the Milford Youth Center, starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Adults can pay $50 for access to the gym through April. Basketball and volleyball are available. See the announcement for more details.
