Monday Essentials: Citizens for Milford's Future Kickoff
Here are some interesting or important things coming up in the week ahead.
1. Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Milford Senior Center. The agenda includes discussion of the fall clean-up event, scheduled for Oct. 26, and final plans for a Full Moon Hike on Oct. 20.
2. Citizens for Milford's Future will hold a kickoff meeting, at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Portuguese Club. The meeting is an organizational one, and will include sign-ups for volunteers, but also a rally for supporters of the casino. Foxwoods Massachusetts executives are expected to attend.
3. Walk-in registration for Itty Biddy and Biddy Basketball at Milford Community School Use will begin on Saturday.
4. A road race to help Scott Ellmore, a Milford resident who is batting cancer, will be held Sunday at Milford High School.
5. The Young Adult department at Milford Town Library is now accepting donations for holiday care packages for troops, to be delivered during the holiday season. (yes, we're getting close). Donations will be taken through Nov. 15. and the packages will be assembled on Sat., Nov. 16. For more info or a list of packages, call the YA Room at 508-473-2145. ext 223.
