Where Should the Milford Farmers Market be Located?
Volunteer organizers of the Milford Farmers Market are asking residents to share suggestions for a future location. The 2014 market will begin in May.
Volunteers are asking customers of the Milford Farmers Market for suggestions on a new location for the 2014 market.
The market was created this year in late summer, and located in a lot beside Milford Town Hall on Saturdays. Although successful in its initial year, organizers are considering a new location for next year. The 2014 market would begin in May.
"We like our current spot, but it has both size limitations and will become VERY VERY hot in the summer," market organizers wrote, in a newsletter post. "Knowing this, we're looking for YOUR input into WHERE you would like to see us located next Summer! Any spot will have to be cleared with all the applicable town departments, so the more "ideas" we have going the better!"
The criteria for a location include: ample parking; grass and/or trees (the market does not have to be shaded but must be on grass); a relatively central location (a spot that will be minimally impacted by sporting events, community events, etc...)
Options already being considered include Fino Field, Plains Park and Milford Town Park.
