Two Teens Achieve Eagle Scout Rank

Patrick Vincent Reimonn, of Hopkinton, and David Frongillo, of Milford, recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Boy Scout Troop 18 is proud to announce that Patrick Vincent Reimonn, 16, of 199 Winter St., Hopkinton, and David A. Frongillo, 16, of 6 Dana Cir., Milford, have earned the highest advancement award the Boy Scouts of America offers to Scouts: the Eagle Scout Award.

On Sunday, Aug. 5, at the in Milford, Reimonn and Frongillo were recognized in ceremonies by their Boy Scout Troop 18, of Milford.

In order to attain the rank of Eagle, each candidate must earn 21 merit badges and successfully complete a community service project to earn the Eagle rank.  Reimonn’s Eagle project was to build a new bridge over one of the creeks on the Lake Whitehall Hiking Trail in Hopkinton. 

Prior to the new bridge, the old dilapidated bridge was dangerous to cross and causing erosion in the area. Frongillo’s Eagle project was to build 26 bird houses for the endangered Eastern Blue Bird from reclaimed lumber and construct two signs for the Woodland Trail at West Hill Park in Uxbridge.

Reimonn has served as the Troop Guide and Frongillo has been the Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 18. Reimonn and Frongillo join other outstanding American citizens who have become Eagle Scouts, among them former President Gerald R. Ford, Jr., astronaut Neil A. Armstrong, and cinematographer Steven Spielberg.

Reimonn is an honors student at Hopkinton High School and is a member of his high school swim team. Reimonn also swims competitively on the Metrowest YMCA Stingrays swim team in Framingham. This spring he was co-captain for a Relay for Life team at Hopkinton High School. During the 2012-2013 school year, Reimonn will be an exchange student in Chile with the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. He is sponsored by the Milford Rotary Club. Reimonn is the son of Jeanne and George Reimonn, of Hopkinton.

At , Frongillo is involved in the school music program, playing percussion, various ensembles, marching band, and school plays. He is active in school sports, playing both soccer and track, as well as other sports for leisure. He is certified as a soccer referee. He is very strong in math and science and hopes to work in a field that includes using those skills. Frongillo is the son of Marty and Mary-Ellen Frongillo of Milford.
