Sheridan Shares Positive Views of Casino’s At Rotary Luncheon

The Milford Rotary Club yesterday welcomed Thomas "Tony" Sheridan, President and CEO of the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce as their luncheon speaker. Those of you who reside in Milford saw Tony's comments in the brochure Foxwoods mailed to every residence about the proposed Milford Casino.

Sheridan spoke about all the positive reasons residents should welcome the casino. He explained the many positive impacts the casino has on the host community, as well as surrounding communities, through their belief in giving back and supporting the community through the signed agreement and their corporate philosophy of sharing. He also noted that investors and people associated with the projects are “professionals” who are interested in solving problems and working with everyone to build and maintain the best of everything which benefits everyone by creating new jobs, support for the town and a destination point that everyone can all be proud of.  Sheridan also noted that casino’s are environmentally minded and look for solutions that are environmentally sound and on the cutting edge of the industry. Sheridan summarized his presentation by saying-look Milford will take a vote and decide. In the meantime you will hear a lot of positives and you will hear a lot of negative statistics. You just need to sort through it all and be prepared to vote.

Milford TV taped the event and will combine it with the opposing view presented to Rotary last month by Robert Steele in order to broadcast both views at a later date.
