Gas Prices Spike, Just in Time for Labor Day Travel

Great timing, Isaac. Gasoline prices in Massachusetts, including Milford, have hit a record high for late August-early September. Will this affect your plans?

Milford area residents who filled up this week noticed an uptick in prices. The price jumped on Thursday to $3.82, on average, across the nation, a record for late August, according to the American Automobile Association.

The national average jumped five cents on Wednesday, when Isaac made landfall in the oil refinery-rich Gulf Coast area. The summer low of $3.33 was recorded on July 2, according to NBC News.

In Milford, the average was a bit lower than the national average at most stations, according to GasBuddy.com.

was selling gas at $3.70 a gallon Thursday, while prices at other stations ranged from $3.99, at, at Beaver, to $3.78 at , at Cedar Street.
