VIDEO: Students Share Literary Costumes in Parade
Third and fourth grade students wore literary costumes in Woodland Elementary School's first parade to celebrate reading and writing.
Students at Woodland Elementary School celebrated literacy by dressing as their favorite character from the “Read Aloud Book” that they read in their individual classrooms, and by parading throughout the school and nearby field.
They carried the posters that they created for the project. Principal Craig Consigli dressed as Davey Crockett and directed the students.
One fourth-grade class, taught by Jared Anzelone, described the characters in their book, Honus and Me.
This program is sponsored by the Woodland Literacy Council.
