School Committee Agenda: Chinese Exchange Students Headed to Milford in March

Also to be discussed this week's School Committee meeting is Milford's participation in a pilot program with the DESE to place curriculum tools online.

The Milford School Committee will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 in the Teacher's Resource Center at Milford High School to discuss a variety of items and issues. 

Among the speakers Thursday night will be Kristin Payton, a teacher at Milford High School, who will provide an update regarding the school's program that will allow Chinese exchange students to visit the school from March 23-29. 

Milford Athletic Director Rich Piergustavo, meanwhile, will recognize Milford High School's varsity cheerleaders and coach Heather Johnson on the group's championship victory.

Also at Thursday's meeting, Milford High School Principal Carolyn Banach will provide an update on the 2014-2015 school year's program of studies at the high school. 

The School Committee will also address Milford's participation in a pilot program with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to use online curriculum tools and templates in an effort to place curriculum maps and unit plans online.

Superintendent Robert Tremblay, meanwhile, will discuss the development of a five-year district strategic plan and seek input from committee members.
