The first round of the MIAA Tournament began this weekend for Girls Volleyball and the Boys and Girls Soccer Teams.

It's playoff time for three Milford High School teams. The brackets for the MIAA Tournament's Central Division have been released.

The Boston Herald reported the Girls Volleyball team, seeded 13th, fell to the number 4-seeded host Medfield in the opening round at 7 p.m. Friday. The girls lost 3-0.

In soccer, the number 10 seeded Girls' team will travel to Quabbin High School, the number 7 seed, at 3 p.m. Saturday to fight for a chance to move ahead to the next round and number 2 seed Algonquin, currently waiting out a bye week.

Also at 3 p.m. Saturday, the Boys Soccer team will be playing at home. Like the girls, they are a number 10 seed facing a number 7 -Tantasqua High School. And like on the girls' side, the winner of the contest will face number 2 seed Algonquin.
