Milford Students Named to Dean's Lists

The following students have been named to Dean's Lists at several colleges and universities.

Editor's Note: The following universities and colleges have released the Dean's List students from Milford for the first semester. Additional students were named earlier, in this post.

Assumption College, Worcester: Gina Castiglioni, class of 2013; Jacqueline Castiglioni, class of 2013; Jenna Garozzo, class of 2013; Alyssa Lombardi, class of 2014; John McVey, class of 2014; Courtney Motuzas, class of 2015; Kelsie Phillips, class of 2014. To make the Dean's List, Assumption students must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Clark University, Worcester: Jacqueline R. Lyon has been named to second honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2012 semester. To be eligible for second honors, students must have a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.79, of a maximum of 4.3.

Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT: Craig Colpitts was named to the Dean's List at Fairfield University for the Fall 2012 semester. To be selected for the Dean's List, a student must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5, of a possible 4.0.

Grove City College, Grove City, PA: Jimmy Williams, a junior History major, has been named to the Dean's List with High Distinction for the fall 2012 semester. Williams was homeschooled, graduating in 2010, and is the son of Gail and James Williams, Jr. Students eligible for the Dean's List with High Distinction have a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA: Christina Thimble, has been named to the dean's list at James Madison University for the fall 2012 semester. Students who earn dean's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Thimble is a freshman whose major is nursing.

Merrimack College, North Andover: Reba Barrows, a freshman in the School of Education, as named to the Fall 2012 Deans' List. To be eligible, a student must achieve a 3.25 grade point average or higher, based on a 4.0 grading system.

Mount Ida College, Newton: Ashley Douglas has been named to the Dean's List for the 2012 fall semester. Douglas is one of 386 students honored for outstanding academic achievement. To make the Dean's List, students must have a grade point average of 3.33 or above.

Springfield College, Springfield: Mark Pinto, who is studying Computer Graphics/Digital Design, has been named to the Dean's List for the first semester.

Stonehill College, Easton: Stonehill College recently named Milford resident Kasey L. Berardi, a member of the class of 2014, to its Dean's List for the Fall 2012 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

Tufts University, Medford: Joshua Elliott, class of 2013, has been named to the Dean's List for the first semester. Dean's List honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT: The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following local students have been named to the Dean's List for Fall 2012: Melissa Vondras and Shelby Maloney.

University of Massachusetts Boston: The following local residents were among nearly 3,000 students who made the Fall 2012 Dean's List: Andrea Suffredini; Rebecca Caruso; Lauren Hicks; Dally Carvajal; Eric Rodriguez; Khizra Syeda; and Ryan Capuzziello.

University of Massachusetts Dartmouth:The following students have been named to the Fall 2012 Dean's List in recognition of earning a semester grade point average of 3.2 or higher of a possible 4.0: Christina Devitt; Jeremiah Shyne; Daniel De Santis; Carina Filosa; Nia Welter; and Alicia Boulos. The following students have been named to the Chancellor's List in recognition of earning a fall semester grade point average of 3.8 or higher of a possible 4.0: Nicholas Sardonini and Natalie Tessicini.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester: The following local residents were among 1,337 students named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2012 semester: Jonathan Fitzgibbon, a senior majoring in biomedical engineering; Casey Hensel, a junior majoring in chemical engineering; and Kelly Knopp, a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
