Milford Students Among Adams Scholars at Valley Tech

Eleven students from Milford were among the 84 at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School now eligible for free tuition at a state college or university.

Eleven students from Milford who attend Blackstone Valley Tech have been named as recipients of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship, and will qualify for free tuition if they attend a state college or university.

The students were among 84 at the regional vocational and tehnical high school named as Adams Scholars. The designation goes to students who score proficient and advanced in the MCAS in either English and math (on a first administration of the standardized test), and have test scores on the two exams that place them in the top 25 percent of their class.

The students from Milford are: Jacen Antonio, Daniel Avery, Brendan Burdick, Mathew Bushey, Alexandra Delmore, Alexandra Doyle, Michael Moran, Katie O’Brien, Emily Phillips, Richard Roberts, and Ashley Santo.

Milford High School has not yet released the names of its Adams Scholars.

The scholarship is awarded through the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
