Milford Public Schools Releases Details for 2014 Summer Reading Program

A special fundraiser will be held at Barnes & Nobles in Bellingham next month.

Students in Milford will soon be out of the classroom and into the thick of summer vacation. And for students who are also book lovers, that means the added bonus of Summer Reading.

Registration for summer reading will be available as of June 16 at the Milford Town Library, officials said. Milford Public School students in grades Pre-K through Grade 12 are required to participate in the summer reading program.

Students in grades Pre-K through Grade 4 will read books of their own choosing, while students in Grades 5-12 are encouraged to read books that appeal to them and suit their personal interests as well as read mandated books.

Meanwhile, a Book Fair Fundraiser will be held at Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Bellingham from June 6-8 during store hours.

As part of the fundraiser, families can purchase summer reading materials using their membership discount on all eligible purchases. Educators can also use educator discounts on all similar purchases and will need to use Milford's ID number (11343506) at check-out.

A percentage of the schools from the fundraiser will benefit the Milford Public School system.
