Voters to Decide on Milford Contests Today

If the campaign signs aren't enough of a reminder, Monday is election day.

Milford voters will choose among several contested races today for the annual town election.

A quick recap of the contested races:

  • Selectman is seeking an 11th term and is running on a platform of continuing fiscal responsibility. He is challenged by a contractor for Aer Lingus who said he wants to improve public safety and address illegal immigration impacts.
  • Three School Committee seats are open, and three names are on the ballot: , the incumbent, as well as a business development specialist, and , a bank manager. A write-in candidate, , is also seeking a seat.
  • The other contested race is more low-profile: the has more candidates than positions. Running for two available posts are incumbents Richard Person and Lisa Bacchiocchi, and a challenger, Tiago Da Silva.

This will be the first election in Milford following the in the town, and the necessity for new precinct lines.
