Alma Karina Lopez: Statewide Academic Recognition

Alma Karina Lopez of Milford, and Robert Jordan of Uxbridge, were named Blackstone Valley Tech recipients of the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents Award of Academic Excellence.

Accomplishment: She is one of two recipients at the school of the . Robert Jordan, of Uxbridge, also received the award at Valley Tech.

Key to Awesomeness: The students were chosen through their high levels of academic achievement, and numerous extra-curricular activities. Both study Business Technology at Valley Tech. Lopez is a member of the James S. Mullaney Chapter of the National Honor Society and has participated in the Model UN, and Humanities Scholars programs at the school. She also works at Carlyle House in Framingham as part of her co-op program through Blackstone Valley Tech. She is very active in her church community, the Ekklesia New Covenant in Holliston, where she sings in the chorus. She is currently awaiting word of acceptance from several colleges.
