Public Hearing on Environmental Impact of Foxwoods MA Resort Casino

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act office will hold a public hearing on the environmental impacts posed by the proposed Foxwoods Massachusetts resort casino at 1 p.m. Thursday in Milford. The meeting is at 1 p.m. at the Crystal Room on Cedar St. The public hearing is a requirement of the development team's filing of an environmental notification form, which describes the project and its expected impacts. The public is invited to comment.

2. Coaches and league representatives will be at John Smith Sports Center from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday to introduce new players/parents to the sport of lacrosse. Boys and girls in the 1st through 8th grades, from Milford and Hopedale, are welcome to attend. No equipment is needed. See www.milfordyouthlacrosse.com for details. 

3. Milford Youth Wrestling is taking walk-in registrations from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, according to signs around town and its website. Students in kindergarten through grade 8 are welcome. Practices are at Milford Sports Center on Central Street. Season starts Dec. 2. 

4. Milford Regional Medical Center is planning a public kickoff next week of its fundraising campaign to build an expansion to the hospital. The event is expected to begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the hospital's cafeteria.
