One Contested Race (So Far) in Milford Elections

With two weeks to go, just one seat has drawn more than one candidate: town treasurer.

Milford has a town election in April, but so far, few candidates have expressed interest.

Seats are open on the Milford School Committee, the Milford Board of Selectmen and the Milford Planning Board. But so far, none has a race.

Only one available seat has drawn more than one applicant, for Milford town treasurer.

Town residents can draw papers to run for office until 5 p.m. Feb. 8.

As of Thursday, the following people have pulled papers to appear on the ballot:

Brian Murray, incumbent, Board of Selectmen; Barbara Auger, incumbent, Treasurer; Michael Soares, Treasurer; Joseph Arcudi, incumbent, Board of Assessors; Patrick Kennelly, incumbent, Planning Board; Patrick Holland, incumbent, School Committee; Scott Vecchiolla and Marilyn Lovell, incumbents, Trustee of Vernon Grove Cemetery; and Barbara Clement and Joseph Arcudi, both incumbents, Constable; John P. Byrnes, incumbent, Board of Library Trustees, Scott Vecchiolla, Board of Library Trustees; Gerald F. Hennessy, incumbent, Board of Health; Richard Cenedella, incumbent, Sewer Commissioner; Samuel J. Bonasoro, incumbent, Housing Authority; and .

Two sitting town officials, Arthur Morin, a Parks Commissioner, and , have said they will not seek re-election this year.
