Milford Youth Center Renovation Proposal Passes at Town Meeting Monday

The MYC has sought to renovate its 103-year-old building.

Proposed renovations to the Milford Youth Center's armory building were passed at Town Meeting in Milford Monday night, MYC announced.

The center's staff has been working to ensure that its building, which is 103 years old, can be renovated. The renovations are detailed under Article 24 of the Town Meeting warrant.

The roof of the building has reportedly reached its life expectancy, while the gym floor is reportedly buckling and the building floods during inclement weather. To learn more about the project, click here.

MYC had also launched an online petition seeking support for the renovations, while the Milford Finance Commission backed the renovations prior to town meeting, and the Milford Board of Selectmen was reportedly split 2-1 on supporting the article, according to the Milford Town Crier.
