Milford Unaffected by Proposed Redistricting

Milford will stay in the same state House and Senate districts under proposed redistricting maps being considered by the state Legislature.

Despite some population shifts, it appears Milford will stay in the same state House and Senate districts under a proposed redistricting being considered this month by state legislators.

The offices of state Rep. John Fernandes (D-Milford) and state Sen. Richard T. Moore (D-Uxbridge), both confirmed our scan of the new lines.

Fernandes, who serves in the 10th Worcester District, will pick up a precinct in Medway under the changes, but otherwise, that district is unaffected, said his spokesman. The map reveals he will still represent Milford, Hopedale and Mendon.

Moore, who represents the Worcester and Norfolk District, keeps all of Milford in the proposed Senate map.

The new boundary lines will be considered by the full Legislature this month, following a public comment period.
