The Milford Board of Selectmen are looking to appoint a new town treasurer by the end of March, according to a report this week in the Milford Town Crier.

Milford Town Administrator Richard Villani drew up the hiring schedule for the role, and Town Counsel Gerald Moody will submit names of the finalists for the position to the Milford Board of Selectmen by March 10, according to the report.

Town officials have also posted the job description on the Milford town website, asking for those interested to file five copies of their application packets no later than Friday, Feb. 28.

Assistant Treasurer Kelly Capece has been filling in as acting treasurer since Barbara Auger resigned last summer, according to the report.
