Milford Legislators Express Concerns About RMV Plan

State Rep. John Fernandes and state Sen. Richard Moore are concerned about the proposal.

Both state legislators who represent Milford expressed concern Tuesday about the potential loss of the Milford branch as part of a consolidation move by the state DOT.

In a release both state Sen. Richard Moore and state Rep. John Fernandes said they wanted to discuss the proposal with state Registry officials.

The reorganization would close all but four local branch RMV offices, including in Milford, and open a dozen regional offices. The closest location to Milford would be in Framingham.

“Milford is one the busiest, most attended registries in Massachusetts," said Fernandes, in the release. "I look forward to meeting with the Registrar and demonstrating to her the value of our local office.”
