Leaf Removal Schedule

Editor's Note: the following document was released by the Milford Highway Department. It covers both the schedule for collecting leaves, and the way they need to be kept for collection.

Milford Highway Surveyor Scott Crisafulli has released the town's schedule for fall leaf pickup by streets. Regulations for Residential leaf program for the town of Milford are as follows:

• Leaves must be raked to the edge of the sidewalk or front property line (if no sidewalk exists).
  • Do not rake leaves onto the sidewalk or into the street. Per Article 23 of the Milford General By-Laws, sweeping materials onto streets or sidewalks is prohibited and violators will be prosecuted.
  • Do not bag leaves for curbside removal.
    • No household garbage, trash, grass, sticks, rocks, etc. will be accepted. Leaf collection equipment will only pick up leaves. Do not pile leaves under low hanging branches.

The bulk of leaves will be vacuumed. Disposal of remaining leaves will be the responsibility of the homeowner.

Due to time restraints and inclement weather, we are unable to return for a second pick-up. Residents must have their leaves out on the scheduled date or they will forfeit the service.

The Milford Transfer Station located on Cedar Street will be open for your convenience. Transfer Station hours may be obtained by calling the Milford Board of Health office at 508-634-2315.

Leaf Removal hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.
