Jennifer Walsh, Milford Special Olympics Director, to Attend State of Union Address

U.S. Rep. Joseph Kennedy III announced Monday he will invite Jennifer Walsh as his guest.

Jennifer Walsh, a respected teacher and director of the Milford Special Olympics programs, will attend the State of the Union Address Tuesday as the guest of U.S. Rep. Joseph Kennedy III.

Kennedy announced he had invited Walsh to the event Monday. She will fly out to join him for lunch on Tuesday, before attending the address Tuesday night.

Walsh recently was named North America Special Olympics’ 2013 Coach of the Year.

“For twenty years, Jennifer Walsh has dedicated her career to the idea that opportunity depends not on who or what we are born to – but on hard work and heart,” said Congressman Kennedy, in a release. "She embodies the spirit of the Special Olympics and the very best in our nation. I am honored to have her join me in Washington and help represent the 4th District at this year’s State of the Union.”
