Bill Buckley, other Milford Incumbents, Pull Papers Monday for Re-Election

Eight incumbents in Milford requested nomination papers by 3 p.m. Monday to run in April.

Wasting no time, eight elected officials in Milford pulled papers to run for re-election Monday, the opening day of the town election season.

Bill Buckley, the current chairman of the Milford selectmen, will run for his seat again, as will Amy Hennessy Neves, the town clerk, and Scott Crisafulli, the town highway surveyor.

Other incumbents pulling papers: Leonard  A. Izzo Sr, for the Board of Health, Thomas Morellu, for Sewer Commission, Joseph Niro, to the Board of Assessors, Paul Braza, to Parks Commission, and Henry Shahnamian, to the Trustee of Vernon Grove Cemetery.

In addition, two new candidates pulled paperwork to run for Tax Collector. Theresa M. Diomedes Dias and Melissa V. Alves-Tomas are seeking the open position, now filled by an interim appointment.

All of the elected positions are for three-year terms. The town election is April 8. The last day for candidates to take out papers to run is Feb. 7.
