Verdict Expected Monday in Nicolas Guaman Trial

Guaman has been on trial this week, accused of killing a Milford man with his truck in 2011.

Closing arguments were presented Thursday in the trial of Nicolas Guaman, who is accused of striking and killing Milford resident Matthew Denice in 2011.

The verdict for Guaman is expected to be given Monday, according to Justice for Matt, a Facebook page established in Denice's memory.

Guaman, an Ecuadorian citizen who is in the U.S. illegally, is facing numerous charges in the death of Denice, a Framingham State University graduate and Milford resident, on Aug. 20, 2011 in Milford. His trial has been ongoing in Worcester Superior Court this week.

"I want to send a strong, loud message that we the people are not going
to tolerate drunk drivers, unlicensed driver, drivers that flee and anyone else ignoring the law while driving...we don't care what nationality you are or where you are from...you break the law and harm or kill someone with your vehicle and we will advocate for you to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Too many people, especially young people and children, are maimed and killed needlessly every single day. Enough is enough. I hope others are inspired to seek justice for those whose death was totally preventable."
