SWAT Response to West Spruce, Couple Fighting on Exchange Street, Youths Swearing at Elderly

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Nov. 22

8:44 p.m.: A caller reported two cars were parked without placards in the handicapped spaces at Milford Town Hall. Police issued tickets.

8:52 p.m.: A caller reported his wife had called him, saying she was being threatened by their daughter. Police called the wife on the scene, but she couldn't talk much for fear of the daughter finding out. Police responded to the house, where police determined no threats or assault had occurred.

10:30 p.m.: A caller at Nelly's Sandwich Shop said loud talking was causing a noise problem. Police responded and found everything was OK.

11:54 p.m.: A caller said a woman in a grey Mercedes had backed into a black sedan at Pepperoncini's, then was all over the roadway. The man refused to leave his name. Police pulled over the woman and she said she wasn't at Pepperoncini's, and the car had no damage. She also showed no sign of alcohol or drug use.

Saturday, Nov. 23

2:14 a.m.: A disturbance was reported near Ray & Dick's Bakery. A caller said he could hear a man and a woman physically fighting. A second caller reported she could see a man physically beating a woman in the lot between Exchange and Pine streets. Police responded and found the window at Great Taste smashed out. Police are seeking a summons to charge Brendon R. Bates, 23, of 42 Pine St., Apt. 4, Milford, with domestic assault and battery and wanton destruction of property, more than $250. Police are seeking a summons to charge Laurie Landry, 38, of 42 Pine St., Apt. 4, Milford, with domestic assault and battery and wanton destruction of property more than $250.

8:17 a.m.: A Toyota RAV4 was repossessed on Grove Street.

12:19 p.m.: State Police reported a rollover on I-495 near Exit 20. Two people were taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

12:50 p.m.: Staff at the Emergency Room at Milford Regional Medical Center asked for help with a male patient who was yelling and screaming.

1:29 p.m.: Police responded to Field Pond Road, where a caller reported an injured fox. Police put the animal down.

2:02 p.m.: Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Central at South Bow streets. Police are seeking a summons to charge Francisco Tacuri, 26, of 79 School St., Apt. 1, Milford, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police are seeking a summons to charge Kamila A. De Sousa, 30, of 77 Bow St., Apt. 3, Milford, with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police are seeking a summons to charge Ernane Silva, 32, of 77 No. Bow St., Apt. 3, Milford, with allowing improper operation of a motor vehicle.

2:05 p.m.: A caller on Pleasant Street reported loud music coming from a car.

2:51 p.m.: Firefighters and police responded to Pine Street, where a 4-year-old had fallen and hit his head.

3:05 p.m.: Police responded to Congress Street, where a 3-year-old had eaten a bottle of Motrin.

4:30 p.m.: A loss prevention employee at Target said they had a woman pay for items with money that appeared to be fake, and she left in a black Nissan Altima with Rhode Island plates. An officer requested a BOLO be sent to surrounding towns, as "she has been doing this for the past few weeks."

5:09 p.m.: A caller at Burger King asked for help with a 2-year-old who was vomiting and disoriented. Police responded but the boy did not need to be taken to the hospital.

5:15 p.m.: A woman reported a man was refusing to leave her friend's house on Main Street.

6:53 p.m.: A caller on West Walnut Street told police her son had come home demanding to be taken to a store. She refused and he showed her something that looked like a gun, although she was not sure if it was real or not. She called police from a hiding spot in her neighbor's yard. He was in his car, honking the horn. Police responded, then contacted Metro SWAT. Wellesley Police also were contacted. Police secured a perimeter around the house. Several area departments sent officers to help secure the neighborhood. Police entered the house and by 8:30 p.m. took the man into custody. According to Milford Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin, the man had a air soft handgun with a blackened tip. He was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center. Police are seeking a summons to charge William B. Bennett, 42, of 44C W. Walnut St., Apt. C, Milford, with assault with a dangerous weapon, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and threatening to commit a crime.

6:57 pm.: A disturbance was reported on Birmingham Court. A caller said kids were walking through the recreation room, swearing at the elderly people. The Police Chief responded but the youths were gone.

8:05 p.m.: A woman in the police station asked to speak to an officer about a domestic with her husband. Police are seeking a summons to charge Manuel Guaman, 25, of 6 Oliver St., Apt. 2, Milford, with malicious destruction of property more than $250 and violating an abuse prevention order.

11:01 p.m.: A caller on Birmingham Court reported kids were walking through the area, swearing again.

11:54 p.m.: An employee at Dunkin Donuts on Main Street said a man was possibly intoxicated, and refusing to leave the business. He was now sitting in the lobby, falling asleep. Officers spoke to the man. He was not intoxicated, but was trying to stay warm. He left the restaurant.
